Is there a minimum commitment I'm expected to volunteer? The time commitment you give depends upon your availability and your interests. Volunteers are welcome 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Volunteers are asked to call the manager at least one day before they plan to visit. How do I find the best volunteer opportunity for me? With the help of the Volunteer Coordinator, your skills, interests and talents will be matched with the needs of seniors and the organization. There are opportunities to volunteer working directly with residents or helping around the house or yard. Volunteers interested in conducting collection drives are also welcome. Volunteer Opportunities We need your time and talents! Working with Seniors Work one-on-one with seniors, listening, talking, walking, laughing. Volunteers can read aloud to residents, play Bingo, plan an ice cream social or senior prom, reminisce, create a scrap book, take residents to lunch or to the store, and more! Spruce up a house If you like to clean or organize, there are many tasks around our homes that might fill your need to clean! Plant flowers, tend a garden or perform, light landscaping If your thumb is green (or even chartreuse), we can use your services to brighten up our yards. Group Projects We welcome groups for one-time projects or ongoing partnerships. In the past, groups have repaired fences, stained decks, washed windows, painted walls, and other maintenance work. Office Assistance Assist staff with general clerical work, data entry, mailings, etc. Special Events Help plan and/or staff special events, including the annual fundraising event. Special Skills We welcome volunteers with special skills such as graphic design, marketing, and photography. |
