Senior Home Sharing has an annual operating budget of
approximately $500,000. Of that figure, resident fees
cover only about 70
percent. To continue to be faithful to our mission, the
organization must raise the additional 30 percent through
grants and fund-raising. Currently, SHS raises
approximately $150,000 each year; about half from grants ($75,000) and the other half through private donations
($75,000). Your
generous support of Senior Home Sharing, whether through
direct donation or contribution to the SHS Endowment Fund of
the DuPage Community Foundation, will enable us to continue
to provide affordable housing for seniors in our community.

Senior Home Sharing
Partnerships
SHS has developed collaborative
relationships with colleges, universities and social service
agencies to enhance service delivery to our residents.
SHS has partnership agreements with Elmhurst College, DuPage
Senior Citizens Council, Northern Illinois Foodbank,
Benedictine University, Metropolitan Family Services DuPage,
College of DuPage, Midwestern University
and others. Through these partnerships we are able to
augment the services provided by our staff at no cost to the
program. SHS residents have benefited from
undergraduate and graduate students completing nursing,
nutrition, and mental health degree requirements. In
addition, Metropolitan Family Services DuPage supports our
home by offering mental health services, psychiatric
consultations, and group programs for our residents at no
charge.
